Applicants must meet the required point threshold before becoming eligible to sit for the Certified Jail Supervisor examination. Points are earned through a combination of education, training, supervisory experience, leadership, and professional development.

Although general knowledge of the experienced jail supervisor and familiarity with current practices are required to pass the examination, the CJS Resource Guide may be helpful when preparing for the exam. The list of resources is neither all-inclusive nor exhaustive.
