Find the membership option that best fits your role within the corrections and law enforcement profession. Please carefully review each category before beginning your application.
Important: If you are not involved in corrections or law enforcement, you cannot register for a Professional Membership or Non-Member account. If you work for a company providing services or products to jails, you must register as a Corporate Member.
Non-Member
For individuals who want to learn more about AJA before becoming a Professional Member.
You must work in law enforcement and/or corrections.
Professional
Designed for professionals working in law enforcement and/or corrections. Includes access to all core member benefits including:

- Training & Certification Discounts
- Access to iConnect
- Weekly AJAlert Newsletter
Consultant
For independent consultants who provide services to correctional or jail facilities, including audits, reviews, and program development.
If you work for a consulting firm, you must select Corporate Membership.
Retired
Exclusively for individuals who have officially or medically retired from physically working in the corrections field.
Retired members cannot currently work in corrections, consulting, or provide services to correctional facilities.
Life
Life Membership demonstrates a lasting commitment to the ongoing development of the corrections profession and support of AJA.
Single-payment and prorated options are available.
Student
Available to full-time students enrolled in a Criminal Justice Program who are not currently employed in corrections or working for a company that services correctional facilities.
Student ID and student email address are required. Submit documentation to
membership@aja.org.
Agency Membership
Criminal justice agencies can benefit through an Agency Membership, which provides special pricing on AJA professional development, seminars, conference registrations, and national resources.
Only the primary contact person receives full member benefits including:

- Conference & Training Discounts
Agency Memberships cannot be processed online. Please download and submit the official form.

Industry Affiliate
Affiliate membership is available to private nonprofit organizations. Evidence of nonprofit status must accompany your application.
Corporate
Corporate Membership is available to companies providing products and services to jails and detention facilities.
This membership category connects your company with correctional professionals nationwide through advertising, exhibiting, sponsorship opportunities, and conference recognition.
Subscription
Stay informed with AJA’s award-winning quarterly publication, American Jails Magazine.
A subscription provides access to industry news, professional insights, operational trends, leadership articles, training updates, and corrections-focused content from professionals across the country.
