The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (Florida) is accepting applications for Experienced Detention Deputies to serve at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Florida.
This position is for currently certified corrections officers with a minimum of three (3) years of experience and an active Florida CJSTC Corrections Certification. A $5,000 hiring incentive is offered and paid upon successful completion of field training.
Detention Deputies are uniformed officers responsible for the care, custody, control, and re-entry of sentenced and non-sentenced inmates. Deputies maintain facility safety and security, supervise inmate activities, document incidents, and perform crisis intervention when necessary. Opportunities for Dual Certification may require limited law enforcement duties within agency facilities.

No felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors

Ability to pass background investigation, CVSA, medical exam, drug screening, physical abilities test, written examination, and firearms qualification
Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime
Required Document:
A Notarized Background Investigation Waiver must be submitted with the application. Failure to submit will disqualify the applicant.
