The New Jersey County Jail Warden’s Association, in cooperation with the American Jail Association, is now accepting applications for the New Jersey Correctional Leadership Series (NJCLS) Class #6. As you may or may not know, New Jersey has led the way in state backed AJA Leadership Initiatives modeling the National Academy – the 2nd one of its kind. Our class once again is an exciting 8-day training and networking opportunity which is designed to help front line supervisors as they transition into leaders of their organization. Unlike the National Academy where an entire “work week” is lost, we found out early that the most beneficial way to implement the program is to break it down into 3 sessions. This year’s annual NJCLS will be held:
NJCLS Class #6
- Session 1 – September 22-24, 2025 – Burlington County
- Session 2 – October 27-28, 2025 – Bergen County
- Session 3 – December 1-3, 2025 – Middlesex County
The core competencies which we will be covering include:
- Anticipating, analyzing, and resolving organizational challenges;
- Building positive relationships
- Building and maintaining teamwork
- Communicate effectively, internally and externally
- Develop and maintain positive organizational culture
- Enhancing self-awareness
- Making sound decisions
- Managing change
- Managing time
- Oversee inmate and facility management
- Reducing jail-related liability risks
- Understand and manage emerging technology
Hotel information will be provided.
Staying overnight is
strongly encouraged as there are group projects.
