Building Officer Resilience and Generational Leaders to Recruit,
Retain, and Motivate

Lead Instructor:  Brenda Dietzman
Hosted by: Jackson County Detention Center
Cost: Member $345 / Non-member $395
Time: 8 AM - 5 PM
Date: August 29th and 30th, 2022 (two day class)

** A lite breakfast; boxed lunch; and snacks will be provided for both days.

Is your agency fully staffed? Is everyone excited to come to work every day? Or do you look around and wonder how you are going to staff the facility? Or what can be done to further develop a resilient workforce that has been stretched to its limit? Or what you can do either as a formal (with rank) or informal (without rank) leader to build a more positive workplace that truly fulfills the mission of your organization?

In this two-day workshop, we will first work to understand the reasons behind the major issues facing our profession. Then, we will work through the issues and develop an actionable plan that can be customized for each agency represented.

Topics include:

  • Generational differences and how to lead
  • How to mitigate low morale, burnout and organizational stress
  • Recruiting and retention
  • Career development
  • Developing resilience, health and wellness in ourselves, others, and our agencies
  • How to engage the community to help solve our issues

We are facing tough times. This workshop will get to the root causes, helping attendees understand the reasons behind the issues. Then, attendees will be provided a variety of solutions and work to develop their own while developing a plan to take back to their organization.
