Instructor: R. Dee Hobbs
Dee serves as Senior Trial Attorney for the Hamilton County (Tennessee) Attorney's Office. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee in 1983. After spending a year as a judicial law clerk for the Tennessee Court of Appeals, he entered private practice in Chattanooga. In 2001 Dee became Special Counsel for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and has represented Hamilton County regarding Sheriff's operations ever since. He is married to his first wife, Lisa, and they have four children and four grandchildren (and expecting to add to that grandchild total). Dee is a former history teacher and football coach, having coached at the college, high school, and middle school levels. He loves to cycle and remains hopeful that the Tennessee Volunteers football program will return to its former glory.

Also discussed are the Supreme Court decisions of the last 12 months, which are explained with an emphasis on how they affect jail management.
