Course Description:
In today’s environment—where every law enforcement and correctional use of force incident is subject to intense public and media scrutiny—it is critical that agencies conduct thorough and well-documented reviews of all Use of Force and Critical Incidents for both operational and liability purposes. A proper review is essential to protect your agency, your staff, and your community, and it serves as a key component in reducing liability, improving training, and identifying trends and early warning signs. The media often releases videos and partial information aimed at capturing public attention, which can escalate negative perceptions and place increased pressure on agencies. This training is designed to prepare your staff to confidently and competently conduct reviews of Use of Force and Critical Incident, helping your agency respond appropriately to internal and external scrutiny.
