When and where is the upcoming AJA Conference & Jail Expo?
The AJA 38th Annual Conference & Jail Expo will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky from May 18-22, 2019. The start of the conference workshops is on Sunday, May 19. Preconference complimentary workshops are on Saturday, May 18.
 
Housing
 
What housing options are available to exhibitors and attendees?
AJA has secured discounted rates at several hotels in Louisville. The host hotel is The Galt House and the overflow hotels are the Louisville Marriott, Fairfield Inn, and SpringHill Suites. Housing opens in November 2018 and more details are to come.

When does registration open?
Conference registration opens in November 2018. Rates and registration deadlines will be available in November.
 
What are the onsite registration hours?
Saturday, May 18 - 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 19 - 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Monday, May 20 - 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, May 21 - 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Wednesday, May 22 - 8 a.m. – Noon
 
What luncheons/receptions are included with my attendee registration fee?

  • AJA Luncheon & Business Meeting: Sunday, May 19
  • Jail Expo Grand Opening & Reception: Sunday, May 19
  • Jail Expo Lunch Meal Vouchers: Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21
  • AJA Banquet: Tuesday, May 21
 
Can I bring my spouse or child?
Yes, we have a special Guest registration rate that family members can register under. Children under 18 do not need to register, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times and are not allowed in the Exhibit Hall during move in and move out.
 
What if I only want to visit the Exhibit Hall?
Attendees who just want to go to the Exhibit Hall MUST register for a one-day pass or a full conference registration. If you are a non-exhibiting company you must register as such for a one-day pass or full conference registration.
 
Do workshop speakers and presenters have to register?
Yes, if speaking or presenting you must register for a one-day pass or full conference registration. If you are only speaking or presenting at your workshop and do not want access to the rest of the conference or Jail Expo, you do not have to register and will not obtain a badge onsite.
 
What facility tours will be available?
There will be a list of facility tours offered in the conference program and at the facility tour sign-up table. Tours are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
 
Is a press pass available?

Is there a student rate available and who qualifies?
AJA offers a student full conference registration rate of $95. Any student not employed in corrections can register at the student rate and present a valid student ID.
 
Will there be a Criminal Justice Student Day?
Yes, AJA will hold its sixt annual Criminal Justice Student Day on Tuesday, May 21. It features a complimentary one-day pass to our conference with the following schedule:
7:30 a.m. – 8 a.m.: Registration
Students are required to register in advance. Click here for the registration form.
8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Workshops
Students have their choice of any workshop held during this time.
10 a.m. – Noon: Q&A session
This is your time to ask questions and learn from active corrections experts.
Noon – 2 p.m.: Exhibit Hall Tour
Students are invited to tour the exhibit hall and learn first-hand about the products and services in use in our jails.
 
Where do I pick up my badge and registration materials?
All materials can be picked up at conference registration at the Kentucky Intenational Convention Center.

The AJA 39th Annual Conference & Jail Expo will be held at the Gaylord Rockies in Aurora, Colorado from April 4-8, 2020.

How much does exhibit space cost?
Exhibit Booth Pricing:
  • New Exhibitor Showcase- $1,495
  • 10' x 10' Booths - $1,795 (Inline Location)
  • 10' x 10' Booths - $2,295 (Corner Location)
  • 10' x 20' Booths - $4,090 (One Corner and One Inline)
  • 10' x 20' Booths - $4,590 (Two Corner Booths)
  • 20' x 20' Booths - $10,000
 
What does an Exhibitor get with the Booth?
Booth Fee Includes:
  • 10' x 10' booth space with draped 8' back wall and 3' side rails
  • Company identification sign
  • Two (2) complimentary exhibitor badges for individuals directly employed as staff of your company. 
  • Admission to social events
  • Access to all workshops, seminars and sessions
  • Additional passes are available for only individuals directly employed as staff of your company for a fee of $50 each
  • 24-hour security service
  • Daily aisle maintenance
  • Descriptive listing by company and product/service in the onsite program book and mobile app
  • Advance and post-show attendee listing
 
Does carpeting and furniture come with the booth?
No, exhibitors must order carpeting.

Who is the Show decorator and how can I as an Exhibitor contact them?
Shepard is the official Show contractor. Exhibitors must use the AJA's official show service contractor for drayage, furniture rentals and other services published in the Exhibitor Service Kit. Exhibitors are expected to have their booths in show condition each morning before the Exhibit Hall opens.
 
Where can an exhibitor find information about ordering carpeting, furniture, electricity etc.?
All of that information will be in the electronic Exhibitor Service Kit which will come from our general services contractor, Shepard, in January.
 
Where can I find the Exhibitor Services Kit?
The Exhibitor Service Kit is electronic. Shepard will provide Exhibitors with a link to the website as well as the AJA Conference show code to access the information.
 
How do I register my booth staff for badges?
All badges will be registered via the A2Z platform (the same as when you selected and paid for your booth). Once you have you have your booth space, click here to register or pay for additional badges.  
 
How many badges come with the booth?
As an AJA Exhibitor, with your booth space, you will receive two (2) exhibitor badges.
 
What if I need more badges or need to make changes to the badges?
All additional badges will be sold via the A2Z platform (the same as when you selected and paid for your booth). Once you have you have your booth space, click here to register and pay for additional badges. Badge sales will be available onsite, however to save time, please use this link. Please note, booth spaces must be 100% paid for before additional badges may be purchased.
