Generations in the Workplace

Today’s workforce is comprised of people from four distinct generations – Veterans, Baby Boomers, Generation Xer’s, and Millennials. However, we must also acknowledge the newest addition to the workforce which is Generation Z. As a result, problems can arise from the sometimes conflicting communication styles of workers born in these different eras. Supervisors/Staff that are able to communicate effectively, regardless of age or other factors, have great potential to increase worker productivity, collaboration, and morale. This interactive seminar provides an environment for you and your agency to identify the characteristics, traits, and core values of the generations in today’s workforce.  You will also examine the level of intergenerational conflict in your organization and develop communication strategies to receive the best from all generations in the workforce. You will learn to assess internal agency culture and its connection to intergenerational conflict. While we realize that each employee is unique and special, there are some communication strategies and best practices that we can apply effectively when we understand and embrace our generational differences.
