Turning Conflict Into Conversation

Description:
Although conflict is a daily fact of life, most of us never really learned how to engage in it effectively. What's worse is that our dysfunctional patterns of how we interact during conflict have become ingrained and are hard to change. This workshop will provide an overview of why conflicts occur and the unmet needs that underlie them. It will also explore the weaknesses of traditional views and approaches to conflict, provide a new framework for conflict resolution, and teach the skills necessary to successfully navigate and resolve conflict in all settings (personal and work). Participants will learn how resist the urge to avoid conflicts, gain skills to effectively address conflict while at the same time preserving relationships and learn how to improve their communication skills so resolution can occur.
